
On the 4th and 5th August 2020, Officers from Inner East Neighbourhood Policing Teams and the Leeds District Off-Road Motorcycle Unit conducted a Police Operation to address the Criminal and Anti-Social use of nuisance and stolen motorcycles in the Killingbeck, Seacroft and Crossgates area of Leeds.
Officers utilised a number of new tactics in an effort to reduce the number and impact of such motorcycles in the area which resulted in the following:
3 Illegal Motorcycles Seized – one suspected stolen, one for document offences and one under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act for Anti-Social Vehicle use
1 Section 59 Warning issued
1 Fixed Penalty Ticket issued for an illegal tyre
In addition to the above, a number of individuals were stopped and searched and a significant amount of local intelligence was obtained.
East Leeds Neighbourhood Policing Teams and Leeds District Off-Road Motorcycle Unit will continue to address the Criminal and Anti-Social use of such vehicles and further Operations will be conducted in the future.
