I have lived on the Monkswood estate in Seacroft for the past 26 years bringing up two children here. I am currently a firefighter having spent most of my career at Stanks Fire Station. I served for 4 years as the Chair of the Fire Brigades Union in West Yorkshire. My partner Joanne is a nurse at St James. I organise community triathlon events and motorcycle track training days. I am passionate about facilities and opportunities for young people, I campaigned for the building of Fearnville BMX Track and was a founder member of Leeds BMX club. I compete in motorcycle road racing.
I was born in the ward of Killingbeck & Seacroft and I have lived in the ward and worked as a teacher in East Leeds for most of my life.
I play an active role in the Killingbeck and Seacroft Labour Party branch, as well as in East Leeds CLP where I am a member of the campaign committee. I support our stall , leafletting and canvassing activities and work with branch members campaigning on local issues.
I have lived in Seacroft for 15 years and was an advice manager at the Crossgates Citizens Advice Bureau and now volunteer with the MP helping him with surgeries and advice work. I am also a Governor at Seacroft Grange Primary School.
