This is your chance to have your say on the options to improve the reliability of the 42 bus route.
Service 42 serves customers between Old Farnley, Copley Hill, Eastgate (Leeds), St James’ Hospital and Gipton/Oakwood/Fearnville early until late Monday to Sunday. The service runs every 10 minutes most of the day Monday to Friday, every 12 minutes Saturday daytime and every 15 minutes Sunday daytime.
Operators, including First Bus, are working with Leeds City Council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority to tackle congestion and improve bus services. As well as new bus investment, including service 42, the partnership is consulting on new road improvements such as at Armley Gyratory to help speed up customer’s bus journeys.
First Bus works with local representatives and West Yorkshire Combined Authority to consider actions which can improve reliability. Recent timetable changes have not improved reliability sufficiently as the service continues to perform inconsistently largely due to unpredictable traffic congestion including road-works on Wellington Street, Eastgate roundabout and outside St James’ Hospital.
We would like to know more about your experience of travelling on service 42 and your comments on the proposed improvements in this short survey. Survey closes on Friday 30 November.
